New England Patriots second year tight end Rob Gronkowski made history in yesterday’s win over the Colts. Gronkowski scored two receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown, tying Vernon Davis, and Antonio Gates for the NFL record for most touchdown receptions in a season at 13. Gronkowski did this after playing in just 12 games, and he still has four more games left to shatter the record. He almost broke it, but after a screen pass from Brady, the officials ruled it a lateral because Brady threw it backwards. After a good season last year, Gronkowski has played outstanding this year, and has become Brady’s favorite red-zone target. This is no surprise, given that he stands at 6’6″, and has monstrous 10 3/4 inch hands. He is an excellent receiving tight end, and he has progressed to one of the best in the league. This is only his second season so he sill has lots of gas in the tank.
